Also Driftwood & Tangle 1941, and My Kingdom for a Horse - Margaret Leigh. ( Margaret Leigh lived at Ach na Darroch and at Ach na Craig, which she had built. For a while, the young Peter Wright, later to become "spycatcher", stayed with her) 
One Horse Farm - Raymond O'Malley,1948.  Lots of good photos.  Recently republished (Raymond O'Malley was a conscientious objector, who took the tenancy of Achbeg Farm during WWII.  Mainly an account of the agriculture, with many activities done jointly with Duncan MacRae of Achmore Farm.  Names in the book have been changed )
